This booklet is a series of three papers delivered on three different occasions. Their subject matter is still of interest, and should be of interest to all who love the truth of God’s word. In the first paper B W Newton addresses what the religious life of God’s people was like, shortly after their release from Babylon. The second paper on the Prophecy of Haggai considers how the work on the Temple had lapsed with people more concerned with themselves rather than God’s house. The final paper was a Lecture on the Third Chapter of Zechariah and how the defiled garments of the High Priest relates to believers and as evidence of God’s grace to His people.
