Within this book, William Patton, teaches the reader five New Testament commands of vital important to us as believers if we would live the holy happy and useful.
1. To know that Christ is in us. As Christian we are to know that we are in Christ and grasp what this means – for it is the means of pardon and acceptance with God is on the ground of Christ’s merit and not our own.
2. To know that we must be filled by the Spirit. Every believer has the Holy Spirit dwelling within them and it is He that enables us to be the dwelling place of God.
3. To consecrate ourselves in all the powers of our minds and bodies to the Lord God for whatever service He may require. We are to present our entire being as a whole burnt offering on God’s altar given up to Him our wills and affection.
4. To rid ourselves of the slavish spirit in reference to God and learn to approach Him with holy boldness.
5. To learn to pray in the Name of Jesus. We need to have the knowledge that we ask of Him because we belong to Him and praying in the name of Jesus is founded on a union with Him.
