This volume was written to supply an acknowledged need. Works on the Lord's Prayer are very numerous, but it is difficult to obtain a volume which presents an interpretation of the prayer. The aim of this work is to explain the important details of this prayer and in turn, the prayer as a whole will reflect a Divine light upon the situation itself.
The author felt it necessary to pass by many of the various views and theories, in order to be free to invest the time in the prayer with its chief significance as an ordinance of Christ. He has engaged in extensive research of sources both modern and ancient and from these sources he has made occasional excerpts by way of practical application to the work.
Including in this work are the Lord's Prayer in the Greek Text; the Latin Vulgate; Hebrew Rendering, various English translations, metrical versions and paraphrased version from the likes of John Bunyan and Adoniram Judson.
