What is the goal of this book? There are hundreds of good books written on the subject of Islam by Christians and non-Christians. Some of them are historical and others are political. Some present the beliefs and practices of Muslims while others are apologetic. But most of them look at Islam objectively without entering into the daily experience of Muslims. Also, the subject of evangelism is often absent. How do I use that information about Islam in my meetings with Muslims? How can I approach my Muslim friends? Where should I start? Where am I to meet them? This book attempts to answer these sorts of questions.
What is the plan of this book? This book is divided into six major parts. The first is a presentation of what Muslims believe and practice. Whilst many books deal with this, it will also seek to present everyday Islam. Most Christians know that one of the five pillars of Islam is prayer. But how do Muslims pray? What are the regulations of prayer? What is the role of the Mosque? What does it look like inside? Why is Friday prayer so special? Everyone knows that Muslims fast during one month a year. But how do Muslims feel about Ramadan? What happens on the first evening of Ramadan? What is a typical day of fasting like? How important are the last 10 days of Ramadan? These are examples of the questions the book will answer.
