In Christ all of the incomparable excellencies of the Christian Faith are bound up in Him, who was Divine Love and Truth incarnate. All its inestimable blessings flow from Him, who is the Head of the New Creation, and the Consummator of all things. Without Christ, who was dead and now alive for ever more, Christianity would be a dead religion. However with Him as the risen Redeemer, and enthroned God-Man, it is a living dynamic, the redeeming Revelation of God, and the only hope for lost man.
Therefore these facts coupled with the Biblical doctrine of the Person and Work of Christ is one of the most convincing arguments for this book. Human beings, without the illuminating ministry of the Holy Spirit would never have thought of the union of two natures, proper Deity and perfect humanity, in a single personality for the purpose of human redemption.
The aim of this book is that through the study of this work it will enable Christians to see the truth concerning Christ and His Redeeming Work more clearly, and so love Him more dearly. This work was produced, not without a good deal of thought, and it is sent forth in with the earnest prayer that God, by His Spirit, will bless it to the magnification of His Sovereign Grace, the glorification of His Beloved Son, the edification of His redeemed people and the salvation of precious souls.
