Oliver Cromwell by Paxton Hood and published by Classics.
It is only necessary, in introducing this work, to inform the reader as to the intentions of the Author in writing it, and that which will be found when it is read. It is, then, simply true that at the time of writing, no popular work on Cromwell was readily available.
Therefore the aim of this book was to present the life of Cromwell in such a way, which demonstrates to the reader Cromwell’s work, and to show how his work and efforts, are reflected in his character and in his career.
Paxton Hood’s desire is that even in today’s world we have much to learn from the life of Oliver Cromwell.
The book includes information gathered not only concerning the English Civil War, but his policies of dealing with countries overseas and views from Cromwell's contemporaries.
