Trench’s NOTES ON THE MIRACLES is widely acknowledged as being the most comprehensive and penetrating study of the subject in the English language. The author manifests a keen sensitivity to the meaning and interpretation of the Biblical text-insisting that God’s Word shall speak for itself. Yet, he marshalls the opinions of a wide array of recognized authorities on the subject-realizing that the full light of revelation is focused on no single mind. Trench succeeds admirably in suggesting the practical lessons which are embedded in the miracles of our Lord.
