Simon Peter: A Study of His Life by Hugh Martin.
When studying the character of Peter, the author will dwell on his various characteristics and how he stands out from the rest of the disciples. However Martin in his book keeps in view the great leading principles of the divine life common to Peter and to all Christian men. Occasionally Martin does point out how the rugged, bold, ardent temperament for which he was distinguished brings out these principles into equally bold relief.
Yet generally Martin prefers to direct his attention to those principles themselves - principles which will be found more or less strikingly developed in every regenerate man.
