"As truly as I live, saith the Lord, all the earth shall be filled with the Glory of the Lord." (Numbers xiv. 21) And the Lord has not forgotten his promise. He has steadily carried on the thread of His counsels throughout the age until that day when he will "gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see His glory." (Isaiah lxvi. 18) And there is one thing which makes this inquiry easy, which is the manner in which Jerusalem is made the centre of the Divine arrangements in the earth. Jerusalem in the place which God has chosen to put His name there, it is the city of the Great King. The history of the world so far as it recorded in Scripture, may be said to be little more than the history of Jerusalem.
