A Father in the Faith: J Elwyn Davies edited by John Emyr and published by Bryntirion Press.
After the Second World War there was a distinct work of the Holy Spirit in Wales as young men were converted who were called to the ministry and took a firm stand for true evangelical faith rooted in personal experience and a sure belief in the efficacy of Christ's death. Young men and women came together to battle against prevailing liberalism and apply themselves to the spread of the gospel and the strengthening of the churches. A magazine in Welsh was published and the foundations of the Evangelical Movement of Wales were being laid. In all this Elwyn Davies was a natural leader and in 1955 he became the General Secretary of the Movement. He would serve until 1990, a gentle and gracious man of God who greatly advanced the Kingdom of God as the Lord lead him. This fine collection of tributes and memories brings this godly man to life for a new generation.
